Elois Jean Dobson, 90, of Richmond, passed away Monday, February 3, 2025, at Shirkey Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Richmond.
Elois was born on April 4, 1934, in Kingston, the daughter of Harry and Helen (Hill) Neblock. She was first united in marriage to Jack Anderson in 1950; they later divorced. She was then united in marriage to Bernard King in 1953; he preceded her in death in 1992. She later married Judson Dobson in 1995; he preceded her in death in 2016.
Survivors include: son, Dennis King of Henrietta; two daughters, Jacqueline (Danny) Witherspoon of Clinton and Debbie Seal of Liberty; five grandchildren: Toby (Angelique) Witherspoon, Jarrod (Ashley) Witherspoon, Cole (Tobi) Witherspoon, Chris (Jolynn) King, and Tiffany L. Dagley; seven great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Mary Lou Neblock of Marceline; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents, stepfather, husbands, son, David King, grandson, Brian Raw, three brothers, Harold Neblock, Bobby Neblock, and Jack Baxley, and sister, Judy Abeln.
Elois attended Brunswick School before finishing at Henreitta High School. She married young and worked briefly as a nurse's aide at Lafayette County Regional Hospital and Shirkey Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Richmond before retiring in 1986.
Elois had a love for reading, watching Westerns, and listening to Country music. She cherished time spent dining out with family and friends and was especially known for her exceptional pies, which became highly sought after at the Lexington Senior Center auctions.
A devoted member of the Trinity United Church of Christ in Lexington, Elois will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
