EMMETT G. CAMPBELL
Emmett G. Campbell, 68, of Independence, MO died at 11:39 p.m. on Wednesday, November 16, 2011 at the Kansas City Hospice House in Kansas City, MO.
Emmett was born on January 23, 1943 in Richmond, MO to Emmett B. and Ruby K. (Jones) Campbell. He married Carol S. Smiglewski of Independence on December 27, 1990; she survives of the home.
Additional survivors include 5 sons and two daughters-in-law, William Benjamin Campbell of Aurora, MO, Kenny Joe Campbell of Aurora, David Campbell of Aurora, Edward and Dawn Campbell of Braymer, MO, and Emmett Dean and Kim Campbell of Jamesport, MO; two daughters and one son-in-law, Kara Lynn Campbell of Braymer and Vicky and Alfred Nibarger of Braymer; one sister, Jo Ann Allison of Liberty, MO; 11 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren also survives.
Emmett was preceded in death by his parents.
Emmett worked as an auto technician and was last employed at Dave Schorr Auto and Transmission in Independence, MO. He had lived the past 20 years in Independence. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran and of the Christian faith. Emmett enjoyed vacationing with his family and loved horses.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Kansas City Hospice House.
Memorial services will be held on Monday, November 21, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond, MO. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services. Inurnment will be in the Woodland Cemetery in Richmond with military honors provided by the Ray County Veterans.
