Era Jean Gorham, 92, of Camden died Saturday, April 14, 2018 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Era was born on January 1, 1926 in Ray County, MO to James Samuel and Alice Virginia (Pulse) Mansell. She married Paul Ray Gorham of Dockery, MO on December 30, 1951; he preceded her in death on February 27, 1995.
Survivors include: two sons and two daughters-in-law, James Paul and Debra Gorham of Excelsior Springs and Rodney and Mary Beth Gorham of Camden; one daughter and son-in-law, Alicia and Kirk Essig of Camden; 5 grandchildren, Jessica Gorham, Daniel Gorham, Lucas and Alissa Gorham, Bethany Gorham and Miranda Essig; and 6 great-grandchildren, Drake Gorham, Colton Gorham, Bella Gorham, Caroline Gorham, Amy Elliott and Jackson Elliott.
In addition to her parents and husband, Era was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles Mansell and David Mansell; and two sisters, Vivian Johnson and Viola Nichols.
Era was a 1944 graduate from Camden High School. She was a housewife and homemaker. She worked outside the house before her kids where born. She loved to go dancing with her husband on the weekends. Era always had a smile on her face and to know her was to love her. She was of the Baptist Faith. She lived in Camden most of her life.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Era Jean Gorham memorial fund.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 20, 2018 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 20, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Burial will be in the Cravens Cemetery east of Camden.
