Frieda Ileene Hannsz, 100, of Norborne, passed away Tuesday, September 3, 2019, at Liberty Hospital.
Frieda was born on July 12, 1919, in Bogard, the daughter of Bryan and Almira "Alma" Catherine (Stouffer) Johnson. She was united in marriage to Gilbert Emil Hannsz of Norborne on February 20, 1942; he preceded her in death on August 15, 1991.
Survivors include: one daughter, Jenna Jo (Butch) Kincheloe of Maui, HI; one grandson, Kyle Christian (Nicole Fox) Nelson; two great-grandchildren, Cecelia Catherine Nelson and Arlo Gilbert Nelson; one sister-in-law, Jewel Johnson and one son-in-law, Glen (Nicki) Nelson and many nieces and nephews also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one daughter, Sandra Sue Nelson, one brother, Jack Johnson, and two sisters, Nila Grace Callaway and infant sister, Mary Jane Johnson.
Frieda worked at various businesses in Norborne throughout her 100 years. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the Trinity Lutheran Church of Norborne. Frieda and her husband enjoyed playing cards, dancing, and fishing. She especially enjoyed going to Maui to visit her daughter and all the friends she made there. Frieda enjoyed all of her friends in Norborne and going out for coffee with her gal pals. She was a very loving person.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Trinity Lutheran Church in Norborne, American Legion Auxiliary or the family's choice. They can be left at or mailed to Thurman Funeral Home, 507 East Main Street - P.O. Box 190, Richmond, MO 64085.
Memorial services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, September 21, 2019, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Norborne. Inurnment will follow services at the church in Fairhaven Cemetery, Norborne.
