GARY LEE DARNELL

Gary Lee Darnell, 56, of Richmond, MO was received into the Lord's arms on Thursday, March 13, 2014 at North Care Hospice House in North Kansas City, MO.

Gary was born on November 25, 1957 in Lexington, MO to James and Virginia (Brockert) Darnell. He was a joyful addition to the family as brother, Billy welcomed having a little brother, after that little brother Larry followed. The family lived in Dover, MO at this time.

Gary married Arlene Clark, to this marriage they had two children, James Wesley Darnell and Clarissa Darnell of Independence, MO and Brian Bowman and his wife, Wanita of Brookfield, MO; brother, Billy Darnell of Henrietta, MO; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

In addition to his parents, Gary was preceded in death by one son, James Wesley Darnell; one grandson, Derek Bowman; and one brother, Larry A. Darnell.

Gary attended Lexington Schools graduating in 1976. He was baptized and also a member of the United Methodist Church in Richmond. He owned Gary's Heating and Cooling and Appliances Repair. Gary loved to hunt and fish and looked forward to mushroom season. Gary was the favorite uncle, a good brother-in-law and a good friend. He will be missed by many family and friends he had.

The family suggest memorial contributions be made to the Gary Lee Darnell memorial fund.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2014 at 4:00 p.m. at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Inurnment will be at a later date. On line condolonces may be left on our website at www.thurmanfuneralhome.com
