Gary Wayne Halterman, 55, of Polo, died Monday, July 4, 2022, at Cameron Hospital.

Gary was born on February 23, 1967, in Ray County, the son of Jackie L. and Betty J. (Burk) Halterman.

Survivors include: his significant other, Amanda Reynolds of Polo; daughter, Elizabeth (Antony) Nelson of Kansas City, KS; four grandchildren: Logan Barrera, Reine Nelson, Zaine Nelson, and one-on-the-way; brother, Kevin (Lisa) Halterman of Richmond; step-father, Jim Wooden of Braymer; step-brother, Brent Wooden of North Kansas City; step-sister, Brenda (Tracy) Weaver of Mooresville; several nephews and nieces; and mother of Elizabeth, Cassie Edmisten of Excelsior Springs.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Betty J. Wooden, and his father, Jackie L. Halterman.

Gary was reared and educated in the area of his birth.  He worked in the construction industry.  Gary enjoyed fishing, working on cars, and tinkering with projects.  He loved time spent with his family and especially loved his grandkids.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Gary Wayne Halterman Memorial Fund.  They can be left at or mailed to Thurman Funeral Home, 507 East Main Street-P.O. Box 190, Richmond, MO 64085.
