Gary Lee Reeves, 69, of Kearney, died Sunday, November 25, 2018 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

Gary was born on August 22, 1949 in Stet, the son of Wilbur L. and Mabel Gladys (Van Soest) Reeves.  He married Gloria Ann Dewey of Kansas City, MO, on May 25, 1974; she survives of the home.

Additional survivors include: one brother and sister-in-law, Lowell Dean and Emelda Reeves of Dickson, TN ;one sister and brother-in-law, Velda Jean and Rick Conard of Kearney and his many friends, old work mates and golfing buddies.

Gary was reared and educated in the area of his birth and graduated high school in Hardin.  After high school, he went on to get his college degree in business administration at Warrensburg.  Gary was retired from St. Joe Distribution, where he worked for over 30 years.  Gary was the ultimate host and loved to have family and friends over for special occasions, such as Father's Day and Octoberfest.  Gary enjoyed golfing with his buddies, especially his best buddy, his father-in-law, Gerald Dewey.  Gary was all about the classic movies and Turner Classic Movies was his favorite channel.  He was an avid reader and enjoyed history.  Gary was of the Christian faith.

The family suggest memorial contributions be made to the Chillicothe Animal Shelter.  They can be dropped off or mailed to Thurman Funeral Home, 507 East Main Street - P.O. Box 190, Richmond, MO 64085.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Thursday, November 29, 2018 at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond.  Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond.  Interment will be in Richmond Memory Gardens.  Please share your memories with the family of Gary by visiting www.thurmanfuneralhome.com .
