GARY FRANKLIN STEIN

Gary Franklin Stein, 69, of Rayville, MO died Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Gary was born on June 24, 1946 in Kansas City, MO to E.F. "Frank" and Vera (Harris) Stein. He married Melody A. Norris of Excelsior Springs, MO in March of 1971. She preceded him in death on November 4, 2009.
Survivors include one son, Ben Stein of the home; one daughter, Misty Stein of St. Joseph, MO; several nieces, nephews and cousins; one brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ray and Donna Norris of Edwards, MO; and two sisters-in-law and one brother-in-law, Debbie Sullivan of Excelsior Springs, MO and Cheryl and Rick Marrant of Richmond, MO.
Gary was a 1964 graduate of Excelsior Springs High School. He worked for the United States Postal Services at the KCI Airport for 33 years before retiring in 2009. He received his B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Finley Engineering College in Kansas City, MO. Gary was a past grand member of the I.O.O.F. in Excelsior Springs. He was a member of the Rayville Christian Union Church. He had lived in Excelsior Springs area most of his life.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Rayville Christian Union Church.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond, MO. Visitation will be Saturday, July 25, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Burial will be in the Polley Cemetery in Excelsior Springs.
