Obituary

HAROLD DEE CARDER

Harold Dee Carder of Richmond, MO passed away on October 8, 2015 at the Shirkey Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Richmond, MO.

Harold was born and raised in Dahlonega, Georgia. Harold moved to Missouri to be near his grandchildren in 2002 and carried out the remainder of his days in Richmond, MO. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, George Berry and Ruby Gillespie Carder, he was their only son. Harold is survived by a son, Donald G. Carder and wife Anne; a daughter Julia A. Johnson and husband Scott and a daughter Regina M. Carder. Harold is also survived by his three grandchildren who were his greatest joy, Parker Q. Johnson, Davis P. Johnson and Madeline M. Johnson.    While like ALL of us, Harold was not perfect and struggled with the mistakes he made in his life. He lived a simple and humble life and was full of compassion for all.    He would want to be remembered as someone who had a smile or kind word for those who may have felt sad or downtrodden. He would try what he could to help those in need.  As he often said, "we are all taught so simply...just do unto others as you would have them do unto you."    He loved his Heavenly Father and I'm sure was welcomed into His loving arms with no more suffering or burdens to bear.    A private spreading of his ashes will take place at the Gulf of Mexico in the future, Harold's favorite place for the peace and tranquility it offered and that he held so dear.      In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to your local humane society in his memory. For Harold always had pets as his companions and loved them as they loved him: unconditionally. May he now rest in eternal peace with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Arrangements by Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond, MO.
