HAZEL MARIE MICHAELS

Hazel Marie Michaels, 98, of Norborne, MO died Friday, May 11, 2012 at the Shirkey Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Richmond, MO.
Hazel was born on December 15, 1913 in Carroll County the daughter of Nelson A. and Emma Lenora (Smith) Fisher. Hazel was united in marriage to Oscar Lewis Michaels of Carroll County on August 18, 1931; he preceded her in death on April 20, 1982.
Survivors include: one son and one daughter-in-law Bob and Mary Ann Michaels of Norborne; two daughters and one son-in-law Ruby Seek of Norborne and Darlene and Donald O'Dell, Richmond; one brother and sister-in-law Carl and Laverne Fisher of Carrollton, MO; one sister Betty Adkins of Norborne; nine grandchildren: Linda Burnim, Debbie Stevens, Terry Seek, Rick Seek, Lavonne McNelly, Robert Michaels, Jr., Allan Michaels, Patricia Lam and Kenneth O'Dell; 23 great grandchildren, several great great-grandchildren, several great-great-great-grandchildren and one sixth generation great-granddaughter and several nieces and nephews also survive.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by three brothers Vernie Fisher, Harris Fisher and Allen Fisher and one great- great- great-granddaughter in infancy.
Hazel was a homemaker helping out on the family farm. She had also worked at Banquet Foods in Carrollton for several years. She was a member of the Baptist Church in Norborne. She had lived most of her life in the Norborne area. She loved her flowers and all her grandchildren.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the either the Norborne Baptist Church or the hospice division of Shirkey Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.



Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 17, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at the Baptist Church in Norborne. Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 16, 2012 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Thurman Funeral Home in Norborne. Burial will be in the Fairhaven Cemetery, Norborne. The Thurman Funeral Home of Norborne is charge of the arrangements.
