HELEN FRANCES CLEVENGER

Helen Frances Clevenger, 95, of Richmond, MO died Monday, December 31, 2012 at Shirkey Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Richmond.
Frances was born on February 3, 1917 near Orrick, MO to Lester and Iva (Farrar) Boyer. She married Grover R. Clevenger of Excelsior Springs, MO on June 26, 1935; he preceded her in death on May 17, 1992.
Survivors include two nieces, Frankie Parshall of Odessa, MO and Susie Mishenhelter of Richmond; two nephews, Ronald Neer of Odessa and Terry Neer of Lee's Summit, MO; and other nieces and nephews on the Clevenger side also survive, Donald Ray Woods, Kenneth Wilson, Kenneth Conner, Leonard Conner, Kathy Mason and Dan Flannery.
In addition to her parents and husband, Frances was preceded in death by one sister, Marjorie Thomas.
Frances was a homemaker. She attended Red Brush School. She was a 1935 Graduate of Excelsior Springs High School. Frances was baptized in the Rock Falls Baptist Church on September 28, 1930 where she was an 82 year member and a Sunday school teacher for 40 years. She was the Rock Falls Baptist Church clerk for 39 years. She learned to write poetry and play the harmonica at the age of 13. She and Grover worked for Billy Graham Crusades as a Consular and sang in its choir for several years. Frances loved to garden, can fruits and vegetables and loved small animals. She also loved to cook and sew. She had lived in the Elkhorn area all of her life.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Rock Falls Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 4, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the Rock Falls Baptist Church near Elkhorn, MO. Visitation will be Friday, January 4, 2013 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the church. Burial will be in the Sunny Slope Cemetery in Richmond.
