HELEN ELAINE HANKINS

Helen Elaine Hankins, 66, of Richmond, MO died Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at the Liberty Hospital in Liberty, MO.

Helen was born on July 24, 1950 in Elkins, WV to John Henry and Lois (Cooper) Davis. She married Larry Hankins of Harrison, AR on April 5, 1969. He survives of the home.

Additional survivors include; her mother, Lois Davis of Roanoke, VA , three sons and two daughters-in-law, Chad and Laurie Hankins of Carrollton, MO, Derek and Amy Hankins of Camden, MO and James Hankins of Richmond; one daughter and son-in-law, Amanda and Matt Ohrt of Richmond; one brother and daughter-in-law, Richard and Joyce Davis of Glen Burnie, MD; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Carol Simmons of Elkins, WV, Pattie and Ellis Cooper of Morgantown, WV; and five grandchildren, Dylan Ohrt, Ashlyn Ohrt, Wyatt Ohrt, Coltyn Ohrt and Garrett Hankins.

Helen was a homemaker, loving wife, mother and caring grandmother.  She loved to read and spend time with her grandchildren.  She looked forward to and enjoyed talking with her mother on the phone daily.  Helen was of the Christian faith.  She lived in Excelsior Springs, MO before moving to Richmond.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to either the Richmond VFW Post # 4398 or Canaan Hill Church of the Nazarene, Lawson, MO.

Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at 4:00 p.m. at the Canaan Hill Church of Nazarene, 33688 W 190 ^th Street, Lawson, MO 64062.  Visitation will be Tuesday, January 10, 2017 from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the church.  Inurnment will be at a later date.  On line condolences may be left on our website at www.thurmanfuneralhome.com
