HOEY Y. LOVE
Hoey Y. Love, 92, of Richmond, MO died Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at Shirkey Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Richmond.
Hoey was born on January 16, 1921 in Camden, MO to Adam L. and Lula (Harrison) Love. He married Leona Mae Stonner of Camden, MO on June 30, 1946; she survives of the home.
Additional survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Donald and Nicki Love of Columbia, MO; one daughter and son-in-Law, Carol and Johnny Daniel of Excelsior Springs, MO; one brother, Crate Junior Love of Lexington, MO; four grandchildren and their spouses, John and Vanya Love, Barbara and Jonny Baki, June Love, Tanya and Jason Fleming and Nathan Daniel; and three great-grandchildren, Jonathan Love, Ryder Fleming and Addison Fleming.
In addition to his parents, Hoey was preceded in death by three brothers, Clyde Harrison, George Love and Bill Love; and two sisters, Dortha Alexander and Martha Howe.
Hoey was a United States Army Air Force Veteran of WWII serving six years active duty, he then served additional 24 years in the reserves retiring as a Master Sargent. He then worked for the Army Corp of Engineers for 30 years. Hoey then worked at the Accounting Department at the Ray County Hospital for 30 years. He was a member of the Richmond United Methodist Church, a 50+ year member and Past Master of Ray Lodge #223 A.F. and A.M. in Camden, MO. Hoey lived most of his life in the Camden and Richmond area.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Ray County Hospital.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at the Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Visitation will be Friday, January 17, 2014 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond with a masonic service at 6:00 p.m. at Thurman Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Richmond Memory Gardens Cemetery where military honors will be provided by the Ray County Veterans. On line condolences may be left on our website at www.thurmanfuneralhome.com
