Hope Smith, 53, of Richmond, Missouri, formerly of Bowling Green, was welcomed home by our Lord Jesus and her parents, grandparents and dear friend Lisa, on Friday, February 5, 2021.

Hope was born July 19, 1967, to the late Gene Long and Sharon (Morath) Long.

Hope fought a good fight against cancer, but the horrific side-effects of chemotherapy were too much for her. She spent some of her last, precious days with the two people she loved most in the world: her boys, Michael and Koty. Although we were not ready to let her go, we hold on to the promise of a better place where her pain is no more.

Hope is survived by her beloved sons Michael Ball and Grandpuppy Zeus and Dakota Smith; Gene's widow Nina Long; sisters Dawn and fiancé Michael Ballinger, Michelle and husband Ray Himmelberg; brothers Jeff Hunt, Othie Hunt, Scott and wife Lynsie Hunt, and Troy and wife Kelly Hunt; her nephew Kyle and wife Stephanie Long, and beloved great nieces Charlee & Briar; dear friend Karina Edmond; ex-husband Stacy Smith; two special cousins Kathy Bays and Michael Long; aunt Janice Windsor, uncle Jerry Long, and numerous other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Per her wishes, a celebration of life service will be held in the spring.
