HORTENSE E. OGG

Hortense Esther Ogg, 100, of Richmond MO, died on Friday, October 17, 2014 at North Kansas City Hospital, North Kansas City, MO.
Hortense was born on October 2, 1914 in St Louis MO, the daughter of Henry and Alvena (Meyer) Aumann. She grew up and attended the Lutheran School in Concordia MO. As a young woman, she moved to Richmond, where she met her future husband, Gerald Ogg of Orrick. They married on August 13, 1948 and made their home in Richmond. He preceded her in death on August 19, 1986.
Hortense was a homemaker and worked outside the home at the sewing factory in Excelsior Springs MO, Lake City Ammunition Plant and for the Ray County Memorial Hospital as a nurse?s aid. She was an avid reader and very independent.
Those left to cherish her memory include: her niece Carol Lane (Ogg) Haug of Richmond, her good friends Judi (Oliphant) and Bruce Renfro and their family, Jacki (Oliphant) Johnson and Patsy (Oliphant) Martin and her son.
The family suggest memorial contributions be made to either Ray County Transportation or the Eagleton Center, both in Richmond.


Memorial graveside services will be held on Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at the Richmond Memory Garden Cemetery in Richmond. Thurman Funeral home in Richmond is in charge of the arrangements. On line condolences and memories may be left and shared on our website at thurmanfuneralhome.com.
