IRMA GENE HAUN

Gene Haun, 94, of Richmond, MO died Sunday, February 21, 2016 at her home.

Gene was born on June 4, 1921 in Holt, MO to Price Mullens and J.T. (Parsons) Anderson. She married John Paul "Jack" Haun of Fairfax, MO on June 2, 1946. He preceded her in death on December 26, 1995.

Survivors include one niece, Beverly Odor of Holt, MO; three nephews, James Ralph Cook and his wife, Eloise of Broomfield, CO, Billy Mack Everett and his wife, Sherry of Magee, MS and Joseph Price Everett and his wife, Jane of Ringgold, GA; and several great nieces and nephews also survive.

Gene taught business classes in the Richmond School District from 1964 before retiring in 1982. She was an AARP Tax Aide. She was a member of the MSTA and MRTA, the Delta Kappa Gamma Sorority, the Richmond First Baptist Church and the Ray County Hospital Auxiliary. She was a Chamber of Commerce Ambassador and member of the American Legion Auxiliary. Gene was also a member of the Ray County Historical Society, Friends of the Museum and Friends of the Farris. Gene loved to read and do needlework. Gene had lived in Fairfax, MO before moving to Richmond in 1964.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Richmond First Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 25, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Visitation will be Thursday, February 25, 2016 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Burial will be in the Antioch Cemetery in Holt, MO.
