Marjorie Irma Faye (Claypole) Rinehart, Independence MO was born December 17, 1939, the fifth of ten children to George B and Opal (Campbell) Claypole of Polo, MO. She passed away at age 82 on February 4, 2022, at St Luke's Hospital of Kansas City. Irma graduated from Polo High School in 1957 and on June 14, 1957, she married her sweetheart, Ivan "Ike" Rinehart in Braymer, Missouri. The couple had two sons, Brad and Brian Rinehart.
Irma was an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan and never missed enjoying a game, many times with one of her sons or her grandson, David, by her side. Throughout her life, she enjoyed participating in bowling and softball leagues as well as playing driveway basketball with her sons and grandchildren. Prior to selling their home at Lake Viking, most weekends you would find Irma and her family at their lake home enjoying swimming, boating, and fishing.
Mourning her loss are sons Brian of Independence and Brad (Linda) of Lee's Summit; 4 grandchildren, David, Sean, Alyssa and Makalee Rinehart; and one great grandson, Rylan. Her siblings; George (Judy) Claypole, Polo, MO, Kenneth (Karen) Claypole, Richmond, MO and Harry Claypole, Kansas City, MO. Four sister-in-laws, Margie Claypole, Liberty, MO, Karen Claypole, Kansas City, MO, Suzanne Claypole, Polo, MO, and Ethel (Rinehart) Hacks, Holden MO. Many nephews and nieces, other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ivan of 57 years, her sisters and brothers-in-law: Helen (Sam) Condron and Dorothy (Lloyd) Rogers; and brothers Wayne Claypole, Neal Claypole, Gerald David Claypole, and Morris Claypole.
Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. on Saturday, February 12 at Thurman Funeral Home, 507 E N Main St, Richmond, MO. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. She will be laid to rest with her beloved husband, Ivan, at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville, MO. In lieu of flowers, the family requests you donate to the Veterans organization of your choice or Mid-America Regional Council (marc.org).
