IRMA FAY SHIPLEY

Irma Fay Shipley, 90, of Richmond, MO died Friday, January 9, 2015 at Shirkey Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Richmond, MO.

Irma was born on February 25, 1924 in Dresden, KS to Roy C. and Bessie (Randall) Bainter. She married Donaphon A. Shipley of Richmond on November 6, 1944. He preceded her in death on July 8, 1995.

Survivors include one son, Roy Edward Shipley of Richmond; one brother and sister-in-law, Gayle C. and Ruth Bainter of Dresden, KS; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Rayta and Max Muse of Golden, CO and Della Jean Shipley of Hoxie, KS; three grandchildren, Candida White, John Scott Shipley and Melinda Shipley; four great-grandchildren, Aric Kerr, Ryan White, Anderson (Drew) Shipley and Johnathan (J. D.) Shipley; two great-great grandchildren, Carter and Caden Kerr; and a special friend, Becky Pemberton of Holden, MO

In addition to her parents and husband, Irma was preceded in death by one son, Johnny Paul Shipley; one brother, Dale Bainter; two sisters, Norma Tice and Leta Neeley; one grandson, Donaphon Shipley and one granddaughter Robin Kinney.

Irma was a Nurse's Aide and a Med Tech at Shirkey Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Richmond. She attended a teacher's college and taught school for several years. Irma taught exercise classes at the Richmond Senior Center. She was a member of the Richmond United Methodist Church. She had lived in Richmond most of her life.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Richmond United Methodist Church.

A memorial visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 20, 2015 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Inurnment will be at a later date in Woodland Cemetery in Richmond. On line condolences may be left on our website at www.thurmanfuneralhome.com
