JACK WILLIS

Jack Willis, 81, of Lathrop, MO and formerly of Lawson, MO died Friday, December 28, 2012 at the North Care Hospice House in North Kansas City, MO.
Jack was born on September 13, 1931 in Hodge, MO to Theori and Ida La Vona (Graham) Willis. He married Norma Christine Sportsman of Rothville, MO on September 12, 1953; she preceded him in death on March 14, 2010.
Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Jack and Leona Willis of Linneus, MO, Pride and Jackie Willis of Lathrop, MO and Bryan Willis of Excelsior Springs, MO; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Elzie Alvin and Marilyn Willis of Sedalia, MO and Jess Roscoe and Blanche Willis of Fleming, MO; 17 grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren also survive.
In addition to his parents and wife, Jack was preceded in death by one daughter, Sonja Willis; one brother, Allen David Willis; one sister, Thelma Louise Willis; one granddaughter, Sammie Willis; and one great-granddaughter, Kyra Lawson.
Jack was an Electrical Engineer for TWA for 35 years before retiring in 1999. He was a member of the St. Paul Christian Union Church. Jack was a member of the International Association of Machinist and Aerospace Workers Union. He was also a member of the Beekeepers Association.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Jack Willis memorial fund.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 3, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at the Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond, MO. Visitation will be Wednesday, January 2, 2013 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Burial will be in the Prairie Ridge Cemetery west of Polo, MO.
