James Damon Eaton 51, a resident of Hardin, passed away on Friday September 18, 2026, in Carrollton. James was born on February 2, 1975, in Lexington the son of Ora and Sharon (Ballard) Eaton.
James is survived by his father; step mother, Janet Eaton; one daughter, Karissa (Maxwell) Shelton; one son, Dustin Eaton; two brothers, Mark William Lamar and Robert Lopez; one sister, Serena McGill; three grandchildren, Huxley Eaton, Lainey Eaton, and Jackson Shelton. He is also survived by a host of other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother and a son, Robert Eaton.
James was a proud son, father, grandfather, brother, and friend who cherished his family above all else. He loved his family with all his heart and never missed an opportunity to remind them just how much they meant to him. James had a wonderful sense of humor and was often the one making sure there was laughter in the room and a smile on everyone's face. He believed in enjoying life, sharing good times, and making memories with the people he loved.
Beneath his humor and easygoing nature was a loving, intelligent, and deeply loyal man. James cared deeply for those around him and was someone his family and friends could count on. His love for his family was evident in the way he lived his life, and the memories he created with those closest to him will be treasured for years to come.
James will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him. His laughter, kindness, loyalty, and love will remain in the hearts of his family and friends forever. James was a member of the Baptist faith.
A private memorial service for family and close friends will be held at a later date.
