JAMES EDWARD "JIM" HENRY

James E. "Jim" Henry, 80, of Richmond, Mo, died on Thursday, February 18, 2016 at the Shirkey Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Richmond.

Jim was born on February 12, 1936 near Hardin, Mo to Edward F. and Anna L. (Denton) Henry. The both preceded him in death. Jim married Carol J. Raasch of Hardin, Mo on December 15, 1956. To this union, 3 sons were born.

Survivors include; 2 sons and 1 daughter-in-law, Kirby Henry of Richmond, Mo, Craig and Stacy Henry of Richmond, Mo and 2 grandchildren, Cody Henry and Cady Henry. Jim is also survived by his companion, Nancy Baker.

In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by a son, Steven Douglas Henry, 3 sisters, Hazel Fern Russell, Billie Lucille Spear and Florence Elizabeth Nash.

Jim was a farmer for several years, before retiring in 1982. Then he was a truck driver for Green Quarries. He was a member of the National Rifle Association and the Missouri Sheriff's Association. He was a 1953 graduate of Norborne High School. He had lived in Hardin and Norborne before moving to Richmond in 1954. He was a member of the Richmond Faith Lutheran Church.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to either the Richmond VFW Post #4398 or to the Faith Lutheran Church.

Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, February 23, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. at the Thurman funeral Home in Richmond, Mo. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 23, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Inurnment in Sunny Slope Cemetery will be held at a later date.
