James J. Pack

James J. Pack, our loving father and grandfather, passed away on April 6th, 2017 in Richmond, Missouri, with his three children by his side. He was 78.

Jim was born and raised in Lexington, Missouri. He graduated from Lexington High School and went on to graduate from the University of Missouri with a BS in Engineering. He spent most of his professional life as a Civil Engineer and Land Surveyor. He was employed by the US Army Corps. of Engineers which he assisted in designing and running Truman Dam in Warsaw, Missouri. He also was in private practice and Pack Engineering is where the last 20 years of his 40 year career in the field happened. He served as Ray County Surveyor and City Engineer for Richmond, Missouri.

In his spare time, he enjoyed the great outdoors and took to fishing and gardening as much as possible. He loved to cook up what he caught and grew. He made a mean Zucchini Bread.
As a young man, he learned woodcraft and became a master woodworker. He could make and recreate just about anything he put his mind to. He was a smart man with a huge loving heart and zest for life. He was known by many in his hometown of Lexington, Missouri as "Jimmy Joe," the young man to be the first ever student for Lexington High School to be awarded ALL State First Team Honors in football, as well as basketball, track and playing baseball. An all-around athlete as well as Student Council President, and awarded the University of Missouri's Academic Curators Scholarship for Academic Excellence.

We will remember our father for his love of family, faith, his voice and playful sense of humor.

He left this world with a "Satisfied Mind."

Jim leaves behind an adoring family. His children, Piper Pack Fraizer (Dave), Overland Park, Kansas; Stephanie Pack Bridges, Kansas City, Missouri; and Timothy Pack, Richmond, Missouri. His grandchildren, Hunter James Pack, Phoebe Wilkinson Fraizer, Mason Martin Pack, Harrison Snowden Fraizer, and Amelia Morgan Bridges.
