Janice Lee "Nanny" (King) Lewis, 74, of Rayville, died Saturday, December 26, 2020, at Liberty Hospital.

Janice was born on June 14, 1946, in Excelsior Springs, the daughter of Eldin Lee and Betty (Moore) King.  She was united in marriage to Everett Dale Lewis, Jr., of Liberty on October 2, 1964; he preceded her in death on October 7, 2012.

Survivors include: daughter, Kathy Garrett of Rayville; two grandchildren, Tracey Garrett and Heather Garrett; four great-grandchildren: Gage, Devin, Landon, and Mary; two nephews, Ronald (Jennifer) King and Donald King; special friend, Jane (Ron) Zolotor; and a host of other relatives and friends also survive.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Eldin Lewis, two brothers, Robert and Charles King, and two sisters, Reta Swigart and Mary Cunningham.

Janice was reared and educated in Rayville and graduated from the Excelsior Springs High School.  After high school, Janice married Everett Lewis, Jr., and they worked on farms in the Rayville, Kearney, Liberty, and Stet areas.  Later, Janice worked at Whitaker Cable, then Avsco, at night, and taught Preschool during the day.  In 1972, she became a caregiver and took care of people in their homes.  She was a member of the Friday Morning Excelsior Springs Bowling League with Colleen Pennington, Shannon Hall, Mary Shelor, and Irene Bellis.  Janice was a longtime member of the Rayville Christian Union Church.  She never met a stranger and would do anything for anyone.
