JEFFERY "WAYNE" NORRIS

Jeffery "Wayne" Norris, 61 of Kearney, MO and formerly of Richmond, MO died Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at the Valley Manor and Rehabilitation Center in Excelsior Springs, MO.

Wayne was born on March 11, 1956 in Lexington, MO to Clarence "Punk" and Carrie "Joy" (Wood) Norris.

Survivors include; one brother and sister-in-law, Jimmy and Vicenta Norris of Richmond; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Peggy and Junior Hackett of Richmond and Bettie Mitchell of Rayville, MO; his faithful 4 legged friend, Amanda; and his best friend and cousin, Troy Brockman of Kearney.

In addition to his parents, Wayne was preceded in death by two brothers, Billy Norris and Parrish Norris who died in infancy.

Wayne worked for several of the area local newspapers including; The Grit newspaper, The Town and County Leader, Richmond News, Liberty Tribune and his own newspaper he started for Rayville area. He had been a 4-H leader. He was a member of the Senior Center in Kearney. Wayne had also worked at Ideal Industries in Richmond. He was of the Christian faith. He had lived most of his life in the Ray County area. He liked to argue and was very independent. Wayne had a very kind soul.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Jeffery "Wayne" Norris memorial fund.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Visitation will be Saturday, December 16, 2017 from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Inurnment will be at a later date.
