Obituary

Jerry Keith Malloy, 79, of Henrietta, passed away Friday, July 12, 2024, at the University of Kansas in Kansas City, KS.

Jerry was born on March 4, 1945, in Bucklin, the son of Russell Carlos and Georgia May (Sappington) Malloy.  He was united in marriage to Joyce Elaine Clay of Richmond in November of 1966; they later divorced.

Survivors include: three children: Gloria (Jack) Cunningham of Richmond, Carmen (Joe) Kiser of Shelbyville, and Kevin (Nancy) Malloy of Caldwell, ID; six grandchildren: Christina (Brett) McClure, Jack (Carrie) Cunningham, III, Lacey Cunningham, Callie (Nathan) Hoskins, Clay (Taylor) Kiser, and Carrie Kiser; seven great-grandchildren: Camie, Ava, Jace, Brisyn, Brayden, Renleigh, and Jasper; and sister, Mary Carothers of Clarence.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Jimmy Malloy and infant brother, Russell Malloy, Jr., two sisters, Lela Ritchie and infant sister, Georgie Marie Malloy.

Jerry spent his early years in the area of his birth before moving to Richmond, where he graduated from high school. He pursued a career as a tool and die maker, showcasing his skills at AVSCO in Excelsior Springs, Ferguson's in Richmond, and ultimately retiring from Commercial Tooling in Wood Heights.

Jerry had a deep love for travel, with a special fondness for the majestic mountains of Colorado. He was an avid motorcycle rider, embarking on numerous long journeys that brought him immense joy and freedom. Camping with family and friends was another of Jerry's cherished activities, along with fishing, which provided him with peaceful moments by the water.

Above all, Jerry's greatest joy came from spending time with his grandchildren, who were a constant source of inspiration and happiness in his life. A man of faith, Jerry was a devoted member of Rockfalls Baptist Church, where he found community and spiritual fulfillment.
