JERRY PAUL "BUSTER" BENNETT

Jerry Paul "Buster" Bennett, 86, of Richmond, Mo, died on Thursday, February 16, 2017 at the Ray County Memorial Hospital in Richmond .

Buster was born on May 13, 1930 in Richmond, Mo to John F. and Gladys R. (Jeffers) Bennett. He married Betty Mae Moore of Excelsior Springs, Mo on January 15, 1957. She preceded him in death on October 17, 2003.

Survivors include; 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Frank A. and Terry Lynn Bennett of Independence, Mo, Ralph P. and Meredith Bennett of Liberty, Mo, 1 daughter, Clifonda Bennett of Richmond, Mo, 1 granddaughter, Margot Louise Zubia and her husband, Trinidad "Chappy" and 1 great-grandson, Augustus "Gus" Bennett Zubia and a niece who he considered as a daughter, Joie Leonard and her husband, Steve of Gladstone, Mo.

In addition to his wife, Buster was preceded in death by a sister, Beulah "Jean" Denton.

Buster was a booth cleaner for Ford Motor Company for 33 years, retiring in 1994. He was a member of the U.A.W. Union local #249. He was a United States Air Force Veteran of the Korean War. He was a loving father and grandfather. He especially enjoyed family gatherings. Buster loved watching football and WWE wrestling. He was a kind man who would go out of his way to help anyone. Buster was quite a prankster. He was of the Christian faith and had lived most of his life in Richmond.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the donor's choice.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 18, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at the Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 18, 2017 from noon to 2:00 p.m. at the Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Inurnment will be held at a later date.
