JEWELL JOHNSON HOOK
Jewell Johnson Hook, 73, of Waverly, MO, died Tuesday, June 16, 2009, at the Lafayette Regional Health Care Center, Lexington, MO.
Mrs. Hook was born July 21, 1935 in Stella, MO to John and Josephine (East) Renner. She married Marcellus Boeschen of Stover, MO on February 15, 1953; he preceded her in death on December 11, 1967. She married Fred Berry of Ponca City, OK; he preceded her in death. She married LeeRoy Johnson of Camden, MO; he preceded her in death. She married Ron Hook; he preceded her in death.
Survivors include one son, Melvin R. Boeschen of Polo, MO; two daughters and two sons-in-law, Michelle and Kenny Chastain of Polo, and Fawna and Dean Cameron of Plano, TX; three brothers and three sisters-in-law, Pete and Mary Renner of Blue Springs, MO, George and Mona Renner of St. Petersburg, FL, and LeeRoy and Mary Ann Renner of Rayville, MO; 12 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by one son, Mark Anthony Boeschen; one daughter, Melissa Lynn Ebert; one brother, Billy Renner, who died in infancy; and four sisters, Vay Johnson, Katherine Rosendale, Dixie Lutjen and Syble Hagston.
Mrs. Hook drove a school bus for Wollard Bus Line and then for Fowler Bus Lines for 20 years. She also drove for the Ray County Fellowship Center. She was a registered nurse. She lived in Riverside, MO before moving to the Richmond area in 1968.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.
Funeral services will be held Friday, June 19, at 11:00 a.m. at the Thurman Funeral Home, Richmond, MO. Visitation will be Friday, June 19, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Thurman Funeral Home, Richmond, MO. Burial will be at East Slope Memorial Gardens in Riverside, MO. Thurman Funeral Home, Richmond, MO is in charge of the arrangements.
