JIMMIE LEE WALKER
Jimmie Lee Walker, 68, of Richmond, MO, died at 11:18 a.m., Sunday, August 1, 2010, at Liberty Hospital, Liberty, MO, after a lengthy illness.
Jimmie was born June 29, 1942 in Hardin, MO to Gailon E. and Blanche Murlean (Bell) Walker. She graduated from Richmond High School in 1961 and she never married. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Gailon E. and Blanche M. (Bell) Walker. She is survived by her five sisters and one brother-in-law; Faye Donna Adams of Leavenworth, KS, Katherine Y. of the home, Helen L. Williams of Richmond, Rev. William C. and Janetta E. Boyd of Richmond and Marilyn V. Walker of the home; her only brother and sister-in-law, Ronnie Wayne and Pamela Walker of Richmond. She has a host of nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, a host of cousins who are too numerous to name. She has a Peck's bad boy nephew who survives her, Gregory William K. who was of the home when young and now lives in Gardner, KS as well as a Peck's lovely niece, Hope D. living in Richmond, MO who also was with her of the home when she was young. Both of these individuals brought many happy memories into Jimmie's life along with their other brothers and sisters whom she did baby-sit during her young life.
Jimmie was disabled most of her life but she worked at home in the community and at church. Besides baby-sitting, Jimmie has also served as the Church Clerk of Second Baptist Church for many years as a mission worker, Sunday school teacher, and a member of the choir. Her Pastor, Rev. Alvin Dixon, and members of the Second Baptist Church will miss her cheery smile, her devout work in the Mission Society of the church and her skilled work as the Church Clerk and a Sunday school teacher.
Jimmie desired no church services and wishes all who knew and loved her sincere happiness as she leaves this life here on earth and awaits her eternal life with her Lord, Christ Jesus.
Thurman Funeral Home, Richmond, MO is in charge of the arrangements.
