REV. JIMMY MAIDMENT

Rev. Jimmy Maidment, 84, of Independence, MO died Sunday, September 25, 2016 at the Missouri Veterans Home in Cameron, MO.

Jimmy was born on October 14, 1931 in Orrick, MO to James and Pauline (Vanderpool) Maidment. He married Phyllis Neal of Camden, MO on November 16, 1951. She survives of the home.

Additional survivors include; one son,  Steve Maidment of Bonner Springs, KS; one daughter, Stephanie Maidment of Prairie Village, KS; and one grandson, Shane Phillips.

In addition to his parents, Jimmy was preceded in death by one sister, Pauletta Allen.

Jimmy was a United States Army Veteran of the Korean War.  He was a Baptist Minister for 60 years serving in Missouri, Texas and New Jersey.  He loved his family and had a close relationship with his grandson.  Jimmy enjoyed baseball, football and loved watching old westerns.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Disabled Veterans.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 29, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Visitation will be Thursday, September 29, 2016 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Burial will be in the Craven's Cemetery in Camden, MO where military honors will be provided by the Ray County Veterans. Online condolences maybe left on our website at www.thurmanfuneralhome.com
