JO ANN MCGUIRE

Jo Ann McGuire, 78, of Richmond, MO died Thursday, April 13, 2017 at Ray County Memorial Hospital in Richmond, MO.

Jo Ann was born on April 13, 1939 in Norborne, MO to Alfred Clifton and Marie (Key) Hampton. She married Samuel H. "Mickey" McGuire, Jr. of Hardin on December 18, 1960. He preceded her in death on May 5, 1990.

Survivors include; four sons and two daughters-in-law, Marty McGuire of Hardin, Chris and Dianne McGuire of Hardin, Doug Doyle of Hardin and Jeff and Brandee Doyle of Hardin; one brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Margie Hampton of Tom Bean, TX; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Karen and David Blankenship of Gravois Mills, MO and Rose Newton of St. Joseph, MO; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren also survive.

In addition to her parents and husband, Jo Ann was preceded in death by one brother, Alfred Clifton Hampton, Jr; one grandson, Zedacus McGuire; and one daughter-in-law, Deborah McGuire.

Jo Ann was a secretary in the Alumni Association Department at Wentworth Military Academy in Lexington, MO.  She also worked as a secretary for the McCalley, Gorham and Bowman Law Firm in Richmond. Jo Ann loved her family dearly, but she loved her Lord the best. She loved all kinds of plant, flowers, reading and family dinners were especially important to her.  She had lived in the Hardin area most of her life, before moving to Richmond.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Hardin First Baptist Church.

Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at the Hardin First Baptist Church. Visitation will be Tuesday, April 18, 2017 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the church.
