JOAN SANDY

Joan Sandy, 84, of Richmond, MO died Sunday, June 15, 2014 at Shirkey Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Richmond.
Joan was born on May 10, 1930 in Ray County, MO to Ellis S. and Larue (Robeson) Clemens. She married Elvin Sandy of Richmond in 1951; he preceded her in death in October of 2012.
Survivors include; one son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth W. and Randie R. Karl of Carlsbad, NM; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Thomas and Phyllis Clemens of Kearney, MO and Samuel Clemens of Lake Wokomas, MO; one sister and brother-in-law, Janet and Gary Padgett of Blue Springs, MO; three grandchildren and their spouses, Mike and Kristie Karl, Robert and Tracy Karl and Brandon and Danielle Karl; seven grandchildren. Two great-great-grandchildren also survive.
Joan was a homemaker. She was of the Baptist faith. She was a lifelong Ray County resident.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Disabled American Veterans.

A Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 19, 2014 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Inurnment will be in the Wakenda Cemetery north of Hardin, MO at a later date. On line condolences may be left on our website at www.thurmanfuneralhome.com
