JOHN D. "RED" MIDDLETON
John D. "Red" Middleton, 83, of Independence, MO, died on Friday, March 1, 2013 at the Research Medical Center in Kansas City, MO.
John was born on May 12, 1929 in Camden, MO to John M. and Nadine Bell (McCoy) Middleton. He married Loretta R. "Tootie" Belt of Camden, MO on June 4, 1949. She preceded him in death on November 14, 1998.
Survivors include; two daughters and sons-in-law, Pam and Kevin Gross of Sibley, MO, Debbie and Drew Gordon of Independence, MO, four grandchildren and their spouses, Tiffany and Dan Nyberg, Shaun and Ashely Gordon, Matthew Gross and Britney Hachinski, Katie and Willie Chard. Six great-grandchildren also survive.
John was a salesman for Sears & Roebuck Company in Kansas City, MO for 29 years, before retiring in 1986. He was a member of St. Mark's Methodist Church in Independence. He was a member of the Sugar Creek Moose Lodge. He had lived in the Independence, MO area most of his life.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Lung Association.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond, MO. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 5, 2013 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Burial will be in Sunny Slope Cemetery.
