JOHN ALLEN ROGERS

John Allen Rogers, 73, formerly of Richmond, MO, died at 6:01 p.m. on Tuesday, July 17, 2012 at the North Kansas City Hospital in North Kansas City, MO.
John was born on October 27, 1938 in Marshall, MO to John W. and Hazel A. (Anderson) Rogers. They both preceded him in death.
Survivors include; two daughters, Karin K. Rogers of Kansas City, MO and Kimberly J. Rogers of Liberty, MO; two brothers, Gerald Rogers and his wife, Marilyn of Baltimore, MD and Larry Rogers of Richmond, MO; six grandchildren, John Christopher Rogers, Jeremy William Ridge, Jordan Clarence Allen Rogers, Nicholas Michael Rogers, Gabrielle Jean Rogers and Kevin Joseph McCoy; and one great-grandson, Roman William Ridge.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by one daughter, Vicki Jean Rogers.
John worked in the maintenance department at Ford Motor Company for over 30 years, before he retired. He was a member of the United Auto Workers Union Local #249. He was a United States Navy veteran. He was of the Christian faith. John had lived in Richmond before moving to Kansas City.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to either the American Cancer Society or to the American Heart Association.


Funeral services will be held on Sunday, July 22, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. at the Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond, MO, with military honors. Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 22, 2012 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Inurnment will be in Woodland Cemetery at a later date.
