JOLETTE Y. (PIERSON) STROUD

Jolette Y. (Pierson) Stroud, 86, of Norborne, MO died on Sunday, March 6, 2011 at the Carroll House in Carrollton, MO.
Jolette was born to Joel G. Pierson a native of Sweden, and Jennie Ross Pierson of Kingston, MO on July 1, 1924, in the Sugartree Community of Carroll County.
She lived her younger years in the same area.
In 1947, she was married to Leonard F. Stroud of Norborne, in 1950 Leonard moved her to the hills north of Norborne where they lived their life together until his death in 1986. Jolette continued to live there until 2004 when an illness forced her to move to Carrollton, MO and reside at the Carroll house until her death. Jolette was baptized as a teenager at Gilead Baptist Church and attended McCroskie Creek Church and Mt. Pleasant Church.
She is survived by two sons and their wives; Gary & Judy Stroud of Carrollton and Dennis& Guyla Stroud of rural Norborne; two daughters and their husbands Connie & Richard Kephart of Odessa, MO and Sandra & Don Horine of rural Carrollton; 11 grandchildren; Stacy & Cory Surber, Stepanie & James Gather, Dustin Thomas, Jennifer Matoy, Wyatt & Kristien Horine, Crissy & Matt Cheney, Carla & Jeremy Hardwick, Regina & Roger Isles, Heather Roberts, Nathan & April Taylor and Melissa Horine; 18 great-grandchildren; one sister, Hildred Darby and one sister-in-law, Audrey Pierson also survive.
Jolette was preceded in death by her parents, husband, five brothers; Jim, Alvin, Ross, Paul, and Gayle Pierson; and one sister, Frances Ackerman.
The family suggests that memorials be made to Crossroads Hospice.

Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, March 9, 2011 at the Trotter Cemetery, North East of Norborne, MO. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 8, 2011, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Thurman Funeral Home in Norborne. Thurman Funeral Home in Norborne is in charge of the arrangements.
