KATHLEEN (NOLKER) THACKER

Kathleen (Nolker) Thacker, 87, of Richmond, MO died Sunday, March 29, 2015 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Kathleen was born on April 5, 1927 in Lawson, MO to James A. and Vena A. (Moss) Nolker. She married Melvin Lee Thacker of Richmond, MO on June 30, 1950. He preceded her in death on May 23, 2009.

Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Kirk and Lisa Thacker of Hardin, MO; one daughter, Elaine Carter of Richmond; three grandchildren, Jimmy Carter and his wife, Christina Carter and Carly and Dalton Thacker; and one great-grandson, Rhyan Carter.

In addition to her parents and husband, Kathleen was preceded in death by two brothers, Stephen E. Nolker and Walter K. Nolker.

Kathleen was a 1944 graduate of Lawson High School. She was a Real Estate Agent for Thacker Associates for 32 years before retiring in 2009. She also worked for Prudential Insurance and Traders Gate City Bank. Kathleen also taught school for 14 years at Crenshaw, Pleasant Valley and Dockery RVI. She was a lifetime member of Beta Sigma Phi. She was a member of the Dockery Baptist Church and taught Sunday school for 25 years. Kathleen was saved at the Old Union Church when she was 16 and baptized at the Dockery Baptist Church.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to either the Dockery Cemetery or to the Dockery Baptist Church.

Memorial services will be held on Friday, April 3, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at the Dockery Baptist Church in Dockery. Visitation will be Thursday, April 2, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Inurnment will be in the Dockery Cemetery.
