Kathryn Eudora (Clark) Adams, 87, of Richmond, died August 14th, 2026, at Oak Ridge Assisted Living. Kathryn was born October 6, 1938, in St. Joseph to James "Jim" Clark and Dixie (Gotschall) Clark. She loved growing up on a farm near Ford City, riding horses, playing with cats and her dog Roger, who could catch a batted baseball, and helping her dad. She graduated from King City High School in 1956 and married her high school sweetheart and classmate Thomas Adams. They were married 53 years until Tom's passing. To this marriage were born two children, Julia Kay (Adams) Day and Jeffery Thomas Adams.
Kathryn was preceded in death by her parents, husband Tom Adams and infant daughter Baby Adams. She is survived by Julie Day and husband Doug, Liberty, and their children Abigail Day and Megan Day of Minneapolis, Minnesota; Jeff Adams and wife Kimberly, Clinton, and their children Zachary Adams and wife Krista, along with great granddaughter Blakely Adams, granddaughter Hannah Edwards and husband Keaton, Liberty, and grandson Noah Adams, Clinton.
Kathryn graduated from Northwest State College in Maryville in 1960 with a BS in Music Education. She taught for a year in Illinois before moving to Fairfax and then to Richmond in 1964. She was a long-time substitute in the Richmond School District where she worked as a kindergarten aide. She taught piano from home for over 50 years. She was an excellent seamstress, knitter, gifted organist and pianist. She loved auctions, ran several antique booths, made doll clothes and stuffed animals, sugar cookies for the FCA boys, and everything about Christmas, especially giving gifts. As the wife of a football coach for over 40 years, she logged the miles to the games rooting on the Spartans and always supporting Coach Adams and his love of teaching, coaching, and Fellowship of Christian Athletes ministry. She cherished being Grandma and Nana by attending numerous sporting events, musical theatre productions, church events, band concerts and art shows over the years.
Kathryn was a woman of faith in her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ who she served as a member of the First Christian Church, King City then First Christian Church Disciples of God, Richmond, which became part of the Richmond United Christian Presbyterian Church. She also assisted Tom in the FCA huddle and numerous trips to the YMCA Camp of the Rockies in Estes Park, Colorado.
The family suggest memorial contributions to the Richmond United Christian Presbyterian Church or the Richmond Education Foundation.
Visitation with funeral services will be held on Friday, August 21, 2026, at United Presbyterian Church in Richmond, with visitation beginning at 10:00 am, with services to follow at 11:00 am. Burial will be held at 2:30 pm following services at the church in King City Cemetery, King City.
