Kathryn Sue Spease, 63, of Lexington, MO, died at 5:54 p.m., Tuesday, April 15, 2014, at the Lafayette Regional Health Center in Lexington.

Sue was born February 23, 1951 in Lexington to William L. and Margaret J. (Riffle) Meierer.

Survivors include her mother, Margaret Joan Meierer of Lexington; one son, Philip Spease and his companion, Misty Cline of Lexington; seven brothers and sisters-in-law, Larry and Connie Meierer of Lexington, Don Meierer and his companion, Kathy Wilson of Lexington, Jim and Karen Meierer of Lexington, Bob and Robin Meierer of Blue Springs, MO, David and Marlene Meierer of Manhattan, KS, Louis "Weasel" Meierer of Gravois Mills, MO, and Pat and Carroll Meierer of Lexington, MO; two sisters and brother-in-law, Judy Jett and her companion, Jimmy Scott of Lexington, and Mary Ella and Scott Wallace of Waverly, MO; and one granddaughter, Alexis Spease.

She was preceded in death by her father; one son, Joseph Spease; one brother, Chris Meierer; and one granddaughter, Ashley Spease.

Sue had worked as an Office Clerk at the Lexington Memorial Hospital. She had also worked at the Medical Center of Independence, the Lexington Medical Center, and Casey's in Lexington. She was of the Catholic faith. She was a lifelong Lexington resident. She attended the Catholic School in Lexington and was a 1969 graduate of Lexington High School.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to either the American Red Cross or the Families Choice.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, April 22, at 10:30 a.m., at the Assembly of God Church, Lexington, MO.   Visitation will be Monday, April 21, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Assembly of God Church in Lexington. Burial will be in Lexington Memory Gardens, Lexington, MO.   Thurman Funeral Home, Richmond, MO is in charge of the arrangements.
