KENNETH BRADFORD "OOZIE" JOHNSON
Kenneth Bradford "Oozie" Johnson, 77, of Richmond, MO died Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at his home.
Ken was born on October 24, 1938 in Richmond to Brack and Rose (Denning) Johnson. He was first married to Patricia Ruth Swearingin of Stet, MO on August 29, 1959. She preceded him in death on February 5, 1987. He later married Johnna Bowman of Richmond on February 18, 1990. She survives of the home.
Additional survivors include; two sons and two daughters-in-law, Phillip and Joann Johnson of Casper, WY and Danny and Natalie Johnson of Trenton, MO; one daughter, Sandra Wallace of Trenton, MO; one brother and sister-in-law, Leland "Pee Wee" and Reba Johnson of Richmond; 7 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; two step-sons and one step-daughter-in-law, Chris and Connie Brown of Richmond and Tim Brown of Richmond; and 5 step-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Ken was preceded in death by two brothers, Brack "Junior" Johnson and Charles "Jupe" Johnson; and two sisters, Mary Jane Johnson and Emily Coffer.
Ken was a 1957 graduate of Richmond High School. He worked at Lake City Arsenal as a machinist for over 30 years. He was a member of the Nazarene Church. Ken loved to hunt and fish. He was a loving father. He coached little league football for several years. Ken was a lifelong Richmond resident.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Richmond Little League Football Program.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at 1:30 p.m. at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Visitation will be Tuesday, September 6, 2016 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Burial will be in the Richmond Memory Gardens Cemetery.
