Kim Allen Branson 74, a resident of Richmond, passed away on Saturday, June 6, 2026, surrounded by his family. Kim was the son of Leroy and Nadine (Robinson) Branson. On June 24, 1988, Kim and Karen Carter were united in marriage, she survives of the home.
Additional survivors include: son, Brad (Karla) Branson of Richmond; daughter, Tracy (Chris) Jarvis of Grain Valley; brother, Kirk (Robin Kennedy) Branson of Richmond; sister, Terri Johnson of Richmond; six grandchildren, Leroy (Mackenzie) Branson, Grace Branson, Solomon Branson, Jade (Ryan) Morris, Jillian Jarvis, and Ean Jarvis; five great grandchildren, Ella, Annie, Lane, Ivy, and Ruthie. He is also survived by several other family and friends.
Kim was preceded in death by his parents.
Kim dedicated forty-one years of service to the Missouri Department of Transportation, where he worked as a Building Supervisor. In addition to his career, he proudly served his community for fifteen years with the local fire department, attaining the rank of Captain. During those years, Kim was known for his dedication and willingness to serve, responding to calls whenever he was available and always ready to help those in need.
Above all else, Kim was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend who cherished time spent with his family. He was a simple man in the best sense of the word and found joy in life's everyday moments. He enjoyed listening to music, duck and goose hunting, riding motorcycles, and spending quiet time outdoors taking in the beauty of nature. Whether gathered with family, enjoying the outdoors, or simply sitting outside, Kim appreciated the simple things and the people he loved most.
The family suggests memorials in his honor be made to Shirkey Hospice. They can be left at or mailed to Thurman Funeral Home 507 East Main Street/P.O. Box 190 Richmond, MO 64085.
Visitation with memorial services honoring Kim's life will be held on Friday, June 12, 2026, at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond, with visitation beginning at 10:00 A.M., with services to follow at 11:00 A.M.
