Lana Lee Zeikle, 70, of Richmond, died Friday, May 17, 2019, at North Kansas City Hospital.

Lana Lee Gott was born on February 19, 1949, in Kansas City, the daughter Robert H. and Shirlee (Jenkins) Gott.  She was united in marriage to James O. Zeikle of Lawson on July 24, 1970.  He preceded her in death on May 3, 2009.

Survivors include: two children, Darrell (Cheryl) Jeffries of Higginsville and Tara Gottschalk of Richmond; 6 grandchildren, Erin (Kyle) Morrison, Natalie Jeffries, Brittany Jeffries, Tyson Jeffries, Savannah Hamilton and Scarlett Gottschalk, one great grandchild, Aria Morrison.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by brother, Bruce Gott and sister infancy, Deborah Kay.

Lana grew up and was educated in Richmond where she graduated high school.  Lana was a housewife and homemaker.  At one time, Lana had been a dispatcher for the Richmond Police Department and a direct care support staff at Ideal Industries.  Lana was instrumental for 15 years in the Miss Ray County Scholarship Pageant.  She is a caretaker at heart.  She would put the needs of others first always taking care of people including her neighbors, extended family and her grandchildren.  Lana was always on the move and ready to go.  NaNa loved to go to her grandkids activities.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 21, 2019, at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond.  Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 P.M. on Monday, May 20, 2019, at the funeral home.  Burial will be in Richmond Memory Gardens Cemetery.  Please share your memories of Lana by visiting www.thurmanfuneralhome.com .
