LARRY KENNETH "BUBBIE" PHIPPS

Larry Kenneth "Bubbie" Phipps, 78, of Richmond, MO died Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at Shirkey Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Richmond.

Bubbie was born on August 25, 1937 in Leon, IA to Milton and Virginia (Edgington) Phipps.

Survivors include; one brother, Don Thomas and his wife, Betty of Mesquite, Nevada; two sisters, Shirley Coen and her husband, Mike of Napoleon, MO and Joyce Cochran and her husband, Michael of Kansas City, MO;  two nieces, Tara McBath and her husband, David and Tisa Coen; four nephews, Brad Bolton, Brian Bolton, and Brett Bolton and Danny Thomas;  one great-niece, Michiela Rybicki; two great-nephews, Adam Bolton and Anthony Bolton; one great-great-nephew, Waylon Coen; and two great-great-nieces, Zoe and Alani Rybicki.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents and also O.B. Thomas, who reared him as a son.

Bubbie worked at Ideal Industries in Richmond for over 30 years. He participated in the Special Olympics for several years. He was a member of the Richmond Church of God. The family would like to thank all the people at Shirkey Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for all the love and kindness shown to Bubbie during his stay there, especially the Wing 1 nursing staff.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to either the Special Olympics or the Amy's Light.
