Lenora Kraft, 79, of Hardin, died Saturday, June 30, 2018 at Shirkey Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Richmond surrounded by her loving daughters.

Lenora Kraft was born September 24, 1938 near Madison, Mo.  She was the eldest of seven children born to Earl and Rosine Snodgrass Sanner.  After graduating high school in 1955, Lenora moved to Henrietta, where she met and married Clifford Eugene ("Gene") Kraft.  Lenora and Gene raised four daughters prior to Gene's death in 1976.

She was a longtime associate for J.C. Penney in Richmond.  After the Penney's store burned, Lenora earned a certified nursing assistant degree, providing care for several families in the area.  She suffered a debilitating stroke in 2009.

Lenora was an avid gardener, canning or giving away much of what she grew.  A self-taught seamstress, she created her daughters' clothes for decades, including prom gowns, wedding dresses and maternity clothes.

Lenora is survived by her daughters: Rev. Janet Lee Kraft of Lake Villa, IL; Cathy "Chris" (Paul) Kerens of Leawood, Kansas; Tina VanRaden (David) of Lake Lotawana, Missouri, and Angela Gene (Joe) Morton of Rienzi, Mississippi; her siblings, Marie (Don) Palmer of Richmond, Harold (Beverly) Sanner, Raymond (Sharon) Sanner, Vernon (Sue) Sanner, Mary Minnis of Orcas Island, Washington and Bobby Sanner of Holiday, Missouri; six grandchildren, and six great-grand children.

The Family suggests memorial contributions be made to Shirkey Hospice which may be dropped off or mailed to Thurman Funeral Home, 507 E. Main Street, P.O. Box 190, Richmond, MO  64085.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond.  Visitation will be one hour prior to services on Tuesday at the funeral home.  Burial will be in Richmond Memory Gardens.  On line condolences may be left to the family at www.thurmanfuneralhome.com.
