LENORE B. CROZIER

Lenore B. Crozier, 98, of Richmond, MO "graduated to glory" Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at the Ray County Memorial Hospital after a brief illness.

Lenore was born on July 24, 1917 in Ft. Wayne, IN to Oscar L. and Ada B. (Paxton) Rogers. She married Dr. Franklin Alfred Crozier of Humansville, MO on July 26, 1942. He preceded her in death on October 3, 1989.

Survivors include two sons and one daughter-in-law, Roger Crozier of San Diego, CA, Stan and Marguerite Crozier of Dumfries, Va; one daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Larry Best of Richmond; eight grandchildren and their spouses, Heather and Danny Farnan, Tyler and Daphne Best, Trevor and Bethany Best, Franklin Crozier, Patricia Crozier and Adrian Crozier; and eight great-grandchildren, Taylor, Joshua and Sophia Farnan; Hudson and Decker Best; and Lyla, Cade and Easton Best.

In addition to her parents and husband, Lenore was preceded in death by one brother, Kenneth Rogers; and one daughter-in-law, Maria Crozier.

Lenore was an educator and homemaker, initially teaching in the Weaubleau, MO School System before graduating from then Southwest Missouri State College in 1943. She subsequently taught in the West Plains, Mo; Waco, TX and Columbia, MO elementary and high school systems before moving to Richmond in 1954. Lenore was an active member of the Richmond First Baptist Church, teaching adult women's Sunday School, directing the Adult Choir and participating in the Women's Missionary Union. She was also an active member of the American Association of University Women, the Ray County Historical Society, and a two-term member of the Richmond School Board. After raising her three children, she helped in Frank's medical practice through his retirement and move to Bella Vista, AR in 1980. She was an active member of the Bella Vista Baptist Church and a Village House Adult Day Care volunteer. She also enjoyed playing tennis with the ladies. Lenore remained in Bella Vista for eleven more years after her husband's death before returning to Richmond in 2001 to be closer to family.

Lenore moved her church membership back to First Baptist Church of Richmond where only occasionally bad weather and a few aches and pains would keep her away from church fellowship. She was also a member of the Chapter CO of P.E.O. sisterhood and a Ray County Memorial Hospital volunteer.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Richmond First Baptist Church.
