LEOLA CAROL PHILLIPS

Leola Carol Phillips, 61, of Richmond, MO died on Wednesday, January 11, 2012 at her home.
Carol was born on July 17, 1950 in Booneville, MO to Charles and Gladys Irene (Winningham) Markel. She first married David Jackson of Lexington, MO on May 20, 1972; he preceded her in death on December 3, 1984. She later married Roland W. "Ron" Phillips of Polo, MO on May 28, 1994; he preceded her in death on September 19, 2008.
Survivors include two sons and one daughter in-law, Eric and Jeanna Jackson of Henrietta, MO and David Jackson, II of St. Joseph, MO; one sister and brother in-law, Faye and Jack Lauck of Richmond; and seven grandchildren also survive
In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by two daughters, Danielle Newman and Tracey Jackson; and one brother, Charles Richard Markel who died in infancy.
Carol worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse in different hospitals in the Kansas City area. She was of the Christian faith. She had lived in the Lexington and Richmond areas most of her life. Carol was a United States Army Veteran of the Vietnam War.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Leola Carol Phillips memorial fund.

Memorial graveside services will be held on Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville, MO with military honors.
