LETHA PEARL HERBERGER

Letha Pearl Herberger, 73, of Roanoke County, VA, passed away Tuesday, March 24, 2009.
Letha was born March 25, 1935 in Lexington, MO to Leslie and Gertrude (Bryant) Shaw. She married Charles Herberger of Norborne, MO in September of 1956; he survives, of the home.
Other survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Fay and Anthony Looney of St. Louis, MO; sons and daughter-in-law, David and Michelle Herberger of St. Charles, MO, and Jeffrey Herberger of Roanoke, VA; brothers and sisters-in-law, Tom and Betty Shaw of Lexington, Jim and Lydia Shaw of Chama, NM, Victor and Teresa Shaw of Lexington; Leslie and Louise Shaw of Lexington, and Fairlen and Debra Shaw of Gladstone, MO; sisters, Dora Mae Ford of Carrollton, MO and Alberta Duncan of Lexington; granddaughter, Brittany Herberger of Roanoke, VA; grandson, Jeffrey Fazer; great-grandson, Justin Frazer of St. Louis, MO; step-grandson, Dalton Niedringhaus of St. Louis, MO; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one brother, Calvin Shaw.
Letha was a homemaker. She was of the Christian faith. She had lived in Lexington, MO, Moberly, MO and St. Louis, MO before moving to Virginia in 1980. She was well known for her friendliness and her ability to remember everyone's name. She knew many people and her frequent neighborhood walks usually ended with a lengthy chat in a neighbor's front yard. Her chocolate ship cookies were a delicious treat, and were frequently bestowed on whomever might happen by. She was known to many as "Mema" for her loving heart and caring ways.

Local funeral services will be held Monday, March 30 at 10:00 a.m. at the Thurman Funeral Home, Norborne, MO. Visitation will be held Sunday, March 29, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Thurman Funeral Home, Norborne, MO. Burial will be in Fairhaven Cemetery, Norborne, MO. Thurman Funeral Home, Norborne, MO is in charge of the local arrangements.
