LILLIAN JUNE SHOUP

Lillian June Shoup, 87, of Rayville, MO, died Saturday, March 15, 2014 at her home.

Lillian was born on January 19, 1927 in Paulsboro, NJ to William Walter Ash and Minnie Rebecca (Loreman) Ash. She married Russell Edwin Shoup of Catawissa, PA on March 18, 1946; he preceded her in death on January 22, 1996.

Survivors include one sister, Helen Gale of Egg Harbor City, NJ; two daughters and families; Deborah Smith and husband Dale of Rayville, MO; and Rae Shevalier and husband Gregg of Denver, CO; four grandchildren; Audra Minck of Liberty, Rusty Smith of Rayville; Eli Shevalier of Denver, CO and Vickie Shevalier of Denver, CO; six great-grandchildren; Jessica Zuklin, Kayla Minck, Colton Minck, Katlyn Smith, Chelsea Smith and Chayne Shevalier; and one great-great-grandchild, Ailey Benedict.

Lillian grew up in Paulsboro, NJ, and married Russell Edwin Shoup on March 18, 1946, in Williamstown, New Jersey. She moved to Catawissa, PA, where Russell's family lived, while in Catawissa, Lillian worked in the Arrow Shirt Factory for a few years, and had two daughters. Lillian and Russell established Shoup Plumbing and Heating where she worked as the bookkeeper. In 1963, they moved to Excelsior Springs, MO. Lillian worked in the return department of National Bellis Hess in North Kansas City, MO, and then as a clerk at Whitaker Cable in North Kansas City, Excelsior Springs, and St. Joseph, MO.

In 1971, Lillian and Russell moved to Ocala, FL, where she first worked for Fuller Amusement as a bookkeeper, and then for the Marion County School District Library Processing Center. She retired from the school district in 1982.

In 1995, Lillian and Russell moved to Rayville, MO to be near family.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Donor's Choice.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 19, 2014 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Inurnment will be at a later date at the St. Paul Lutheran Church Cemetery in Numidia, PA to be with her Russell once again.
