LILLLY HICKS

Lilly Ruth Hicks, 82, formerly Richmond resident, passed away, April 22, 2015 in Houston, TX.    She was born to Edward Joseph Long and Edna Belle (Everetts) Long near Clayton, KS on June 2, 1932.    She married William Hicks of Richmond on Feb. 10, 1951.    She is survived by two sisters, Fern Parker of Kansas and Nina Kent of Arkansas and one daughter, Kathy Mallot of Houston, TX. Also 5 grandsons, Kelly Inks, Orrick, MO, Bill Inks, Richmond, MO, Shannon Mallot, Garrett Mallot, and Jed Hicks, Houston. TX, and 2 granddaughters, Jessie Mallot, Houston, TX and Nell Priest, LaPort, TX, and 8 great grandchildren.    Other survivors are numerous nieces and nephews and many close loving friends.    She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Winferd Long and sister Helen Sell, her husband, her daughter Ruth Ann Inks of Orrick, MO and son Garry Hicks of Houston, TX.    Lilly had a great love of family with a special love for babies and children and enjoyed her great grandchildren as often as possible to her final days.

Visitation was held Fri. April 24 in Houston at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home. Graveside services handled by Thurman Funeral Home were held at 1:00 April 27 with burial in Richmond Memory Gardens.
