Lola Fern "Grandma Fern" Hancox, 92, of Richmond, died Friday, January 3, 2020, at Shirkey Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Richmond.

Lola was born on August 6, 1927, in Ray County the daughter of Ernest and Arah (Lake) Steva.  She was united in marriage to Irwin Hancox of Richmond; he preceded her in death on October 22, 1992.

Survivors include: two cousins; Jerry (Sheilah) Bates, and Melvin (Jean) Steva; and her good friends and care givers, Jim and Gwen Gilbow

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Lola was reared and educated in the area of her birth. She graduated Richmond High School in 1945. In addition to being a housewife and homemaker, she also worked as a secretary for DuPont. Lola also worked with the Foster Grandparent Program and was past Grand Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star.  She was of the Methodist faith.
