LONNIE LEE MARTIN

Lonnie Lee Martin, 63, of Liberty, MO, and formerly of Richmond, MO, died Tuesday, August 24, 2010, in rural Richmond.
Lonnie was born August 10, 1947 in Kansas City, MO to Oren Jerome and Elizabeth (Smith) Martin. He married Janey Catherine Walgren of Liberty on February 19, 2000; she survives, of the home.
Other survivors include his mother, Elizabeth Martin of Richmond; three sons and one daughter-in-law, John and Barb Martin of Warrensburg, MO, George Martin of Chicago, IL, Spenser Wine and his significant other, Kylie Ricketts of Liberty; three daughters and two-sons-in-law, Kathy and Jeffery Kelly of Excelsior Springs, MO, Cheryl Martin and her significant other, Jim Miller of Richmond, and Lisa and Randy Harp of Richmond; one brother, Andy Martin of Richmond; three sisters and one brother-in-law, Terry Cotner of Richmond, Pamela Coyle of Oak Grove, MO and Denise and Mark McGinnis of Hardin, MO; and twelve grandchildren, Miranda Martin, Hayle Martin, Emalee Martin, Kasey Kelly, Kapono Bertilacci, Mason Bertilacci, Reny Reis, Skyler Nolker, Millea Miller, Beth Harp, Kaitlyn Harp and Charlie Harp.
In addition to his father he was preceded in death by two brothers, Leroy Martin and Norman Martin; and one sister, who died in infancy.
Lonnie worked for the Ford Motor Company as an assembler before retiring in 2000. He lived in Parkville, Richmond and Liberty, MO. He was of the Catholic faith. He was a lifetime member of the V.F.W.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Lonnie Martin Conservation Fund.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, August 31, at 2:00 p.m. at the Thurman Funeral Home, Richmond, MO. Visitation will be Monday, August 30, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Thurman Funeral Home, Richmond, MO. Burial will be at Glenridge Cemetery, Liberty, MO, where military graveside services will be conducted. Thurman Funeral Home, Richmond, MO is in charge of the arrangements.
