LUCILLE BRAY

Lucille Bray, 95, of Richmond, MO died Saturday, August 1, 2015 at her home surrounded by her loved ones.    Lucille was born on July 3, 1920 in Cortez, CO to Daniel and Jessie Kate (Churchill) Gantz. She married Grady Wilson Bray of Lafayette, TN on February 5, 1938. He preceded her in death on August 12, 2003.

Survivors include two daughters and two sons-in-law, Judy Ann and Dannie Williams of Stockton, MO and Mary Lee and Chuck Hurd of Excelsior Springs, MO; 8 grandchildren and their spouses, Vicki and Lynn Ferril, Karyn and Shaun Henggeler, Kim and Dennis Aldrich, Danny and Janet Williams, Delana and John Sawyer, Melissa Rivers, Rocky Hogan and Jason Bales; 17 great-grandchildren and 24 great-great-grandchildren; and one son-in-law, Mark Williams of Lawson, MO.

In addition to her parents and husband, Lucille was preceded in death by two sons, Rickie Wilson Bray and Larry Allen Bray who died in infancy; one daughter, Lisa Marie Williams; two brothers, Eugene Gantz and Theodore Gantz; and two sisters, Leona Baker and Sadie Oneta.

Lucille was a homemaker. She worked at the Tinsley Hotel in Hardin. She also worked in the Dietary Department in the Richmond High School and was also the crossing guard for the Richmond School District. Lucille's mother died when she was an infant. She had lived with relatives in Oklahoma, Texas, Colorado and Kansas before moving to Missouri. She was a member of the Henrietta Baptist Church.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Dockery Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 6, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Visitation will be Thursday, August 6, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Burial will be in the Richmond Memory Gardens Cemetery.
